Project on maintaining work capacity throughout one’s working life, entitled “Improving Health and Safety at Work through the modernisation of lighting systems at workstations and in work areas.”
The main objective of the project entitled “IMPROVING HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK THROUGH THE MODERNISATION OF LIGHTING SYSTEMS AT WORKSTATIONS AND IN WORKPLACES” at ARLEN – TEC Sp. z o.o. in Tarnów was to improve working conditions by ensuring adequate lighting at workstations. The lighting requirements for workstations – Production / Sewing Department staff covered by the project – located in two production halls have been met, as confirmed by lighting measurements taken after the installation of the new lighting. A lighting intensity level of over 1000 lx was achieved – the standard requirement is 750 lx – and lighting uniformity averaged around 0.80 – the standard requirement is 0.70. Thanks to the correct lighting of workstations, the risk of accidents resulting from failure to notice hazards – such as all kinds of obstacles, protruding elements or moving objects – has been reduced, which could have led to incidents such as tripping, falling, injury, fractures or cuts. Appropriate light intensity and uniformity will also prevent the onset of fatigue among employees who spend their entire shift in the workplace.
The installation of modern lighting ensures that employees have good visibility and visual performance appropriate to the specific nature of the visual tasks they perform, as well as promoting their well-being and safety at work.
